Matthew Oldford

Born in 1980 in Canada, Matthew Oldford is a successful entrepreneur, real estate investor, developer, and the founder and owner of Matty Renos. His company is distinguished by its seamless design-build process, meticulous attention to detail, and premium products. He is also an accredited Chief Financial Planner (CFP).

After attending Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), he started his construction career at 22, working for a local builder. Despite his initial lack of experience, he rapidly acquired a deep understanding of building systems and residential and commercial construction methodologies. He later leveraged this experience in a coastal roofing company, quickly advancing to a managerial role and handling projects valued between $20,000 and $250,000.

In 2007, he returned to NSCC to further his education in investment management, gaining certifications in several financial disciplines. He then transitioned to Scotiabank, where he served as a financial planner and, subsequently, a mobile mortgage specialist. By 2017, he had returned to the construction industry, working as a foreman for the Laborer's International Union of North America, where he managed teams of 10 to 15 employees.

In 2018, he took a significant step by founding Matty Renos, drawing on his extensive background in finance and construction. He initially converted a residential property into a profitable Airbnb venture. This success prompted him to continue with property renovations and conversions, including transforming a single-family house into a duplex.

His projects often involved complex remodeling and upgrading homes for investment purposes, enhancing his reputation locally. He worked closely with top engineering, planning, and architecture firms, ensuring high standards in building practices and regulatory compliance. His property development ventures include significant addresses and multiple high-value projects.
